EverLex is designed as a local-first application. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting it through minimal data collection and industry-standard security practices.
1. Information We Collect
- Local Data: All your study progress, vocabulary notebooks, notes, and history are stored locally on your device using CoreData or SwiftData. We do not collect or upload this data.
- AI Queries: When you request AI-powered etymology analysis, the queried English word, selected response language, and an app-specific client identifier are sent to our servers. We use this information to return the analysis result, enforce daily usage limits, protect subscriptions from abuse, and cache repeated word results for up to 30 days.
- In-App Purchases: Subscription payments and purchases are handled securely via Apple StoreKit. When you use Pro features, Apple subscription entitlement tokens may be sent to our servers to verify access and enforce subscription device limits. We do not collect or store your payment card details or billing credentials.
2. Data Usage
AI query data and subscription entitlement data are used solely to operate EverLex features, usage limits, caching, and subscription access. We do not track users across apps or websites, nor do we sell, rent, or share your data with any third-party advertisers or data brokers.
3. Data Security
Your local data is protected by iOS/macOS system sandboxing and local device encryption. All network communication is securely encrypted over HTTPS (TLS).
